Huawei will target the World Number One Smartphone Market
Huawei is predicted to become number one in the global smartphone world with an estimated number of shipments above 200 million units.
Huawei, which has just shifted Apple as a cellphone manufacturer this quarter, targets shipments for the year to be above the initial figure of 180 million after the company sent more than 95 million cellphones in the first half.
"I don't think it would be a problem if we were number two at the global level next year. In the fourth quarter of next year, we might be number one," Huawei CEO Richard Yu said at an event for media in Shenzhen, China.

Huawei's growth strengthened in Europe and China, Yu said, thanks to being driven by premium class products such as the P20 series, which have sold more than 9 million units since it was launched four months ago.
Huawei's consumer business units, including cellphones, recorded a 73 percent increase in revenue in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the first half. Whereas in China grew 37 percent.
Huawei stated its position in the premium cellphone market in the first half to 16.4 percent, strengthening compared to last year, which amounted to 12.8 percent.
Huawei will add 10,000 retail stores worldwide by the end of this year.
